The Lifespan of a Fact

This is an editor’s eye candy. Jim Fingal spent nearly seven years checking up on the facts of an essay about a suicide in Las Vegas written by John D’Agata. One of my favorite editors LOVED this book, and while the book may have limited appeal to the general reading public,  it sparked an interesting conversation about the meaning of and essay and the importance of accuracy.
