Mortality by Christopher Hitchens. (Twelve)
Of the many books I didn’t get a chance to mention in today’s video this is one I wished I had presented. It arrived after the video was completed. I think Hitchens’ contributions to our contemporary culture should not go unrecognized. His co0urage in facing his illness and ultimate death is a worthy witness for all of use regardless of belief or non-belief. The experience of illness can have a crushingly isolating effect on our lives. Hitchens gives us a voice to help anyone create the language for suffering and loss.
