I was taking the old Buick out to the grocery store this afternoon when I heard NPR’s teaser for a story about OJ’s book being pulled, but I chose not to have a “driveway moment” and instead went on with my marketing. They told me what I wanted to hear already- the book is cancelled.
So, when I got home and worked on this day’s post I got the announcement in my mailbox. Just off the internet from Shelf Awareness:
Rupert Murdoch announced that his company is cancelling the publication of O.J. Simpson’s book If I Did It. There’s been a bit of controversy over this forthcoming, now squelched, book. Would bookstores carry it, those that would promised to donate profits to domestic violence causes. I even had a call from a customer who threatened not to come to our store if we carried it.
Phew, moral dilemma averted!
